Almarada

Story

Almarada Is The Expression of Antonio Mas’ Life-Long Study Of Nature, Clonal Selection, Soil, And Climate. The Word Is A Fusion Of “Alma” (Soul) And “Arada” (Plowed) Which Embodies The Union Between The Soul And Agriculture. Antonio Mas was born in Mendoza and holds a BA in Agronomy from Universidad Naciona. Argentinean boutique winery: Finca La Anita.

THE TERROIR

Antonio gets inspiration from the concept of French Choteau. For example, vineyards of high genetic and variety purity, clone identification of each variety, and grapes grown and vinified in the same place where they were first planted - in specific plots and true single vineyards. In 2010, Antonio decided to create his own top-notch equipment due to no options in the market. Therefore, he had to import barrels as there were no other ways to get them. Antonio then developed a new vineyard in Tupungato at an elevation of 1.100 meters above sea level. The result was the beginning of boutique wineries in Argentina, a term in which he never felt comfortable with. Thanks to 50 years of winemaking, he is considered one of the most prestigious Argentinean winemakers. In particular, His new winery Antonio Mas Wines is the pinnacle of his career.
