Story
The winery started in 2004 with a patch of raw earth, a bucket of grapevines and plenty of sweat from family and friends who joined to embark on the extraordinary. From this work emerged a commitment to produce authentic, handcrafted wines emblematic of the vintage, earth and effort. Clementine Carter elevates cool climate Rhône varieties grown in Santa Barbara Wine Country. We love all our varietals, especially Grenache and Mourvèdre. Grenache is challenging to farm with big clusters, big berries, and thick skins. Here, farming Grenache is about nuance. It’s about finding the right balance to bring out the elegant, finessed flavors of the wine.
