Story

In the early 1990’s, DAKÉL Winemaker Andres Sanchez, and vintner friends and colleagues Randy Ullom and Don Hartford, searched the mountainous ridges of Chile for vineyards to produce world-class Burgundian varietals. In 2007, they planted the Maricerro Vineyard, located 12 miles from the Pacific Ocean in the hills of the Cordillera de la Costa mountains – an ancient range juxtaposed against the younger Andes Mountains.

The Vineyard’s quartz laced granitic soil and distinctive terroir drive a bright and unique crystalline signature in both wines. Influenced by the breeze off the coast and climate from the mountains, these wines represent the trio’s commitment to producing elegant, pure single-vineyard expressions of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Chile.
