Greenock Creek

Greenock Creek

Story

The original 20 acre property and old homestead at Seppeltsfield was purchased in 1975, and the first wine from the old Shiraz vines was released by Michael and Annabelle Waugh under the Greenock Creek label in 1984.
In 1988 Michael and Annabelle opened their tasting room in the old cellar beneath the homestead, and this is still regarded as the smallest cellar door in Australia.

Our tiny cellar door was opened in 1988 with two wines – our 1986 Creek Block Shiraz and the 1988 Chardonnay.

We have always been a genuine estate winery. Our vineyards are dry grown and the grapes from each patch are kept separate and processed at our small winery. We do not purchase grapes, so consequently our production can vary considerably from year to year.
