Story
THE ESTATE
Domaine de Leos is an exceptional wine and olive oil producing estate. The domaine, pulling its name from Patrick Bruel’s two sons, Leon and Oscar, stretches over 41 hectares (101 acres) near L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue and is built on a unique development model. The objective is to craft products in Provence that distinguish themselves not just through their quality and uniqueness, but also through the profound dedication to environmental and societal values that underlie them. The gently sloping plateau on which the estate sits is made up of slabs of rock covered in a limestone topsoil. This shallow, stony soil is particularly well-suited to growing olive trees, truffle oaks, and vines. It is a terroir on which nothing has been farmed and no chemical herbicides or pesticides have been used for more than 50 years.
THE DOMAINE
L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, nestled within the captivating golden triangle of Provence, finds itself gracefully positioned among the three famed “A” cities – Avignon, Arles, and Aix-en-Provence. As the gateway to the enchanting Luberon and an important crossroads connecting the Luberon, Mont Ventoux, and the Alpilles, this charming town holds a unique historical significance. Its ancient canals, dating back to the Roman era, stand as a testament to the town’s thriving textile industry and contribute to its rich architectural heritage. Often referred to as the “Venice of Provence” (l’Illa de Venissa in Provençal), L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue exemplifies the idyllic lifestyle of old Provence. Art and culture thrive here, with the town being renowned as the French capital of antiques and art galleries, earning its status as the third most important antiques center in Europe.
THE WINE
Named after Patrick Bruel’s grandmother, it resembles the very heart of Provence, the Domaine LEOS Rosé - Cuvée Augusta, harmoniously fuses natural freshness, refined and distinctive aromatics, and the concentration and opulence sourced from the region’s most exceptional terroirs. But terroir alone is not enough. The wine’s balance comes also from the exact proportions of grape varieties: Grenache which gives superb structure and aromatic power, Bourboulenc which brings opulence, and Vermentino which adds a touch of zest and a magnificently fresh finish.
THE BOTTLE
Domaine de Leos’ commitment to respecting the environment led to a completely redesigned bottle for the 2022 vintage. With a new design that combines both lightness and elegance, its considerable weight reduction makes responsible transport easier to achieve.
THE VISION
A shared love of authenticity and a passion for terroir brought Patrick Bruel (French singer-songwriter, actor, and producer) and Nicolas Jaboulet (Winemaker) together to raise the bar of excellence even further in this Domaine LEOS Rosé, Cuvée Augusta. Taking the great Hermitage white wines as inspiration, Nicolas Jaboulet has crafted a stunningly pure, elegant rosé, of incredible freshness and remarkable breadth. The agricultural philosophy of Domaine de Leos strives for utmost harmony with nature. The resulting LEOS Rosé embodies the essence of an organic wine.
