Stokes' Ghost

The fruit for Stokes’ Ghost hails from our estate vineyard in the Hames Valley, an inland enclave at the southern end of Monterey County. Considered a “Goldilocks” region – not too hot, not too cold – it offers ideal conditions for Petite Sirah. The wine was aged for 14 months in American and Hungarian oak barrels to add complexity and soften the tannins.

Without Petite Sirah the California wine industry would look vastly different. Since its arrival from France in the late 1800s, PS has provided the color, flavor and backbone to many of the state’s most popular reds. Stokes’ Ghost explores the more complex aspects of this wonderfully powerful grape. Inky black in color, it delivers haunting aromatics, commanding flavors and red velvet tannins.
